FDC Decal Vinyl

FDC Decal Vinyl is commonly referred to as sign vinyl. Sign vinyl is a “sticky vinyl” and is applied to hard surfaces like cars, laptops, and walls. It is not used on apparel. Sign vinyl does not need to be flipped (mirrored) for application. Instead, it is designed and cut the way it will look on the product. For example, text will be cut reading from right to left. Once the vinyl is cut, it is transferred to your product with application tape. TRW carries the FDC line of decal vinyl in a variety of different colors and textures: glossy, glitter, metallic, and fluorescent, as well as removable matte wall vinyl.

Glitter and EasyWeed Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV)

Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) is what will be used most often for knockout designs. HTV is applied to apparel using heat and pressure. It comes on a carrier sheet, with the side that touches the garment exposed. The carrier sheet is what keeps the design intact when applying it to the garment. It serves the same purpose as application tape for sign vinyl. Because of this, your design must be mirrored (flipped) and cut in your machine with the carrier (shiny side) facing down.

While HTV can be applied with a home iron, a heat press is recommended to ensure proper heat and pressure on the vinyl. Even if vinyl has heat applied for the right amount of time, it will not last on the garment if it does not have proper pressure as well. TRW carries the Siser line of HTV.
